Welcome to the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Houston Chapter Home Page. NAAAP is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote the personal and professional development of the Asian American community.
The National Association of Asian American Professionals is a nonprofit 501(c)(4), all volunteer organization, whose mission is to promote the personal and professional development of the Asian American community. The organization has chapters in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Houston. We also have affiliates in cities such as Dallas, Vancouver, Washington D.C., Atlanta and San Francisco. The Houston Chapter opened in the fall of 1994 and represents the first NAAAP chapter in Texas.
Our membership is comprised of a diverse group of individuals with various levels of education and work experience. By pooling our resources to support common goals, we strive not only to benefit our members, but more importantly, NAAAP opportunities. NAAAP-Houston is involved in many joint projects with the Asian American community service groups, professional organizations and university student groups. Because of our diverse membership, we share in our strengths and aid each other in our weaknesses. We give each other a broad range of activities and opportunities to experience. Our diversity is our strength.
The primary benefit of NAAAP is its members. As you know, NAAAP members are highly educated and motivated. NAAAP is its individuals, NAAAP is a team, NAAAP is a community. Together we achieve more as a group and as individuals, both professionally and socially. Other membership benefits include the quarterly newsletter "The Scroll," free or reduced rate admission to NAAAP events, professional and educational development programs, and access to a strong network of Asian Americans across the country. And of course, the invaluable associations we develop.
